Open Call for Installation Artists!

Visual artists are invited to be a part of the Blue Ox Music Festival experience! Do you have a beautiful and engaging project you want to share with the Blue Ox community? Here’s your chance…
The Art in the Pines application is NOW OPEN for installation artists looking to display their work at Blue Ox 2026. Application MUST be filled out before midnight on Tuesday, March 31st to be considered for selection.
Have you displayed your work at Blue Ox in the past? Please make sure to submit a new concept this year – we are looking to include some fresh new installations at Blue Ox 2026.
To complete this application please make sure that you’re prepared to include a few images for upload and information about your installation experience. We are looking to place your art in many different high trafficked areas, walkways and within the campgrounds to enrich the overall experience of the festival.
We are most interested in pieces which include at least one of the following components:
- Interactivity / Engagement
- Immersive Experience
- Visual esthetic at night
All chosen applicants will receive:
- Compensation anywhere between $50 – $600 towards the cost/time of creating your installation.
- Access to the festival ground on Wednesday, June 24th to install your piece.
- (2) 3-day passes* to Blue Ox 2026 so that you (the artist) and one guest can keep tabs on your installation throughout the duration of the festival and enjoy the music ($558 value)
*Chosen applicants will be contacted in early April.
*If you are selected and have already purchased festival passes, then you will be reimbursed. You must provide your own transportation to and from the event. Transportation cost is not included in reimbursement.
*You will be liable to dismantle your piece on Sunday, June 27th if you would like to take it home with you.
*All chosen applicants will also receive the opportunity to display their installation at The Pines Music Park August 14th & 15th for Campout in the Pines with the String Cheese Incident. You will receive (2) 2-day Campout tickets for this event if you choose to display your work here again in August. ($478 value).
