New for Blue Ox 2025

We are excited to have you back at the Pines in a few short weeks. Every year we send out a post-festival survey to receive feedback about your experience. Based on your feedback from the past couple of years, we have some new things to announce for Blue Ox 2025!

FESTIVAL BOWL REORGANIZATION!

No Hammocks Allowed within the Festival Bowl!
After reviewing our post-festival survey responses over the last couple of years we have decided to experiment with the hammock space for Blue Ox 2025. We have not decided if hammocks will never exist here again but want to see how this space could be used in the absence of them. We have received feedback expressing disappointment both in the fact that the hammock area is underutilized, that people are being disrespectful of hammocks that are not their own, that children are using open hammocks as a jungle gym, and that people want more shaded seating spaces. So, we are going to see how this works.

Please respect the “no hammocks in the bowl” rule this year. This area will be available DAILY starting Thursday morning on a first come basis for those who want to sit in chairs or on blankets during the day. All chairs, blankets and shade tents MUST be removed at the end of each day.

Expanded standing and chair area!
We have leveled some of the ground, expanding the usable area near the pond. This will provide more standing room and areas to set up your own seating.

Designated Walk Paths!
In an effort to prevent bottlenecks and provide clear boundaries we are going to establish pathways to get through the crowd in an efficient manner. Please respect these boundaries which will be distinguished by white painted lines.

No chairs in front of the Saloon Stage!
Just a friendly reminder that the concrete pad in front of the saloon stage was never meant to be used as seating. We kindly ask that you refrain from setting up chairs in this area. If you choose

*REMINDER: All chairs, blankets and shade tents (4ft and under) SHOULD BE REMOVED from the festival bowl at the end of each day. We are not liable for any lost, stolen or damaged items.

WALK-IN WOODED TENT CAMPING IN THE PRAIRIE!

Over the winter we cleared some new space to provide wooded camping within the prairie. Please keep in mind that this area will be a bit rougher than other unreserved wooded areas and that you will have a slightly further walk to port-o-potties but you will have more solitude camping here.

You will be able to walk your camping gear into this wooded area and set up your tents on a first come basis. Bring a wagon. No vehicle traffic allowed.

NO CARS ALLOWED WITHIN THIS NEW CAMPING AREA SINCE ROADS HAVE NOT BEEN ESTABLISHED.

To get to this new unreserved tent camping area, please follow signs to the Prairie. You can drive out to the wooded area but MUST park your car in the designated adjacent parking area next to the trees and walk your camping gear to where you want to set up your tent site. REWORKED DISC GOLF COURSE!

In an effort to minimize conflict between campers we have reworked our disc golf course once again, and think it might be the best version yet!

This nine-hole course was built not only to be out of the way of campers but also scenic and challenging while remaining approachable for players of all skill levels. If you feel inclined to play after the sunsets all holes are lit, though we recommend getting oriented with the layout before venturing out on a night round.

*We do not provide discs

NEW SOLAR LIGHTS!

The reserved prairie camping area has been lacking a bit in streetlamps. We hope our addition of solar lights in this area helps you find your way if you stay up late!
